Newport Ship - Exhibition Design & Build
The Newport Medieval Ship was discovered in the banks of the River Usk in 2002. It was excavated by a team of archaeologists funded by a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and lifted timber by timber.

The cleaning work is revealing new and exciting information as it progresses, and is a major find in the history of Newport, Wales newest City.

For this completely new display for the museum the designers came to Semaphore for the printing and construction of this permanent exhibition.

Semaphore was presented with the new partition walls, and installed the illuminated display cases, a video monitor and an audio commentary system, which is triggered by people entering the area.

To complete the build we printed and installed the graphic display panels containing the information about the ship, and decorated the room.
